The Community Service-Learning Program enables Undergraduate Students an opportunity to extend their academic interests beyond the classroom through meaningful field experience with Nonprofits. By completing a 40-hour "service-learning project", students can earn credit towards graduation. This cohort-style experience has been transformative for students looking to "bring their education to life" in a way that advances the public service mission of AU to turn "ideas into action and action into service". On average, 50 students from a variety of years and majors complete CSLP and leave a lasting impact on themselves and their communities. Over the past 3 years, 15-30% of CSLP students ended up with a paid opportunity at a Nonprofit because of CSLP. Every semester, CSLP connects students to dozens of Nonprofit partners where they build their professional skills and network, explore potential careers, and reflect on their personal values and civic duty all while serving the local community.

Your support impacts students, nonprofits, and the communities they serve. Funds help students get to sites that're not serviced by WMATA, allow program staff to build reciprocal community partnerships, and support the Peer Mentors (i.e. individual TAs) that allow this program to operate asynchronously.
