The American University women's rugby club team is celebrating 30 years of scrumming, rucking, try scoring, and love of the game. We are an inclusive space for all who are interested to try rugby and fall in love with the sport. Throughout the years we have brought home conference championships, game wins, and years of memories.
What fundraising can do for us: Donations to our team help us fund travel to games and tournaments, purchasing new equipment, tournament enrollment fees and field reservations. Funding is particularly helpful when we are given the opportunity to compete at the national level and travel much further outside of the DMV area. As a team, we also instill in our players that money should never be a barrier to playing. To do so, we allocate funds to make participation more accessible, and to ensure every player is able to be included in the sport.
Sari Oppenheimer:
"The AU Women's Club Rugby Team thanks you for all your support and dedication. Your donations allow us to provide opportunities to new and returning rugby players, helping to build and sustain a foundation for creating athletes, leaders, and lifelog friendships for generations to come. We hope to continue AU's legacy as one of the most successful Division II rugby teams in the country and continue providing students with a love for the game."
