American University’s Women’s Club Basketball team was founded in the Fall of 2024 and is currently undergoing its second ever season! We compete within the Mid-Atlantic-South Conference of the NCBBA-W (National Collegiate Basketball Association) against teams like Georgetown, William & Mary, George Washington, VCU, and Richmond. As we navigate through our second year, we are working hard to plan and schedule both games & practices, fundraise money to support our financial needs, and strengthen our skills on the court. This spring, we hope to become more competitive within our division and win games against our rival schools like George Washington and Georgetown!
What Fundraising Can do for Our Team:
- Your donation would help make AU Women’s Club Basketball possible, as our newly established team faces many expenses!
- Our overarching goal as a new team is to keep our club financed to continue playing the sport we love and create a legacy at AU. It is important to our founding members to provide this opportunity for women to play basketball at a collegiate club level, and we are more than grateful to be able to do this at AU.
- Donations to American University’s Women’s Club Basketball team would greatly help us through our second season as a team! Donations would be used to help pay our league membership fees, aid us in paying for transportation to away games across the Mid-Atlantic region, allow us to lower fees for our members, and assist us in paying officials for our home games in Bender Arena. This fall we traveled over three hours away to play William & Mary, and your donation would help make experiences like this possible!
- Our outlined goal is to raise 250 dollars and to gain any new donors! We are grateful for this opportunity to fundraise and spread awareness about our new team.
